How they help
Variety - the Children’s Charity is a national not-for-profit organisation committed to empowering Australian children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs to live, laugh and learn. By giving practical equipment, programs and experiences, Variety helps children in need to overcome whatever obstacles they may face and assists them to life a happy and fulfilled life.
Variety's work allows children to gain mobility and freedom, to get out and about in the community, be able to communicate, enhance their education, achieve independence and increase self-esteem, and where possible the assistance to help them integrate into mainstream school and activities.
Unlike most charity organisations, which focus on a single problem or specific area, Variety knows few boundaries for children in need. Variety provides essential equipment and programs for individual children suffering one, or multiple of, more than 133 different conditions.
Variety has three core programs— Freedom, Future Kids and Caring for Kids—and it’s through these programs that we deliver a unique range of goods and services to support the specific needs of individual children, across a diverse spectrum of physical, emotional and financial needs.
Variety QLD directly helps thousands of individual children and families in need - providing practical and much needed grants for items like wheelchairs, medical equipment, modified tricycles, electric beds, and communication devices for children who would otherwise ‘fall through the gaps’ and have nowhere else to turn.
VARIETY THERAPY DOGS
Variety – the Children’s Charity of Queensland and Craig A Murray Dog Training are pleased to announce the commencement of the Variety Therapy Dog Team.
